Smooth and crushed: velvet

Portfolio Description

Stretch Velvet

Velvet is a high-quality fabric in which a third thread system forms a fiber pile on the right side of the fabric. The pile is responsible for the exclusive look of the material. As a knitted fabric and in combination with spandex, our velvet is not only two-way-stretch, it also perfectly hugs the body of its wearer and offers a high level of comfort. Velvet has a very attractive effect, because it feels particularly soft and you want to stroke over the material again and again. In addition, velvet is characterized by a high durability, opaqueness and friction resistance. For this reason, we like to use velvet in gymnastic leotards. We distinguish between four types of velvet:

Crushed velvet:

Crushed velvet typically has a shorter pile and a crinkled appearance. This is precisely what makes the fabric less susceptible to wear and tear over time. Gymnastics leotards, costumes and shorts made from crushed velvet tend to last longer. You can find the latest gymnastics leotards and pants made of crushed velvet here.

Smooth velvet:

Smooth velvet is still a popular fabric, especially among young gymnasts. This fabric has a special charm because of its silky look and soft feel. Girls also like to wear shorts or capri tights made of smooth velvet with their velvet leotards. Here you will find a current selection of our smooth velvet leotards for girls and women.

Glitter velvet:

Textile finishing methods, like film lamination, can add interesting patterns and colors to base fabrics. Velvet is especially well-suited for this purpose because of the contrast between its matte surface and the glittering foil. This creates a beautiful effect, particularly on leotards and gymnastics outfits. You can find current leotards with velvet glitter here.
