Why do we produce exclusively in Germany?
The textile industry helps create jobs and independence, especially for women. Fair wages and good working conditions are particularly important to us, so that we can all live in a society with a high standard of living, one that embraces social responsibility and does not allow exploitation.
What contribution does ERVY make to sustainable business practices and environmental protection?
Producing 100% on-site not only allows for fast and flexible fulfillment of customer orders, but also ensures very short transport routes, which are less harmful to the environment. Our local approach helps save significant amounts of CO2, as long-distance or international transport in production is eliminated.
We not only shorten transport routes to our customers, but also to our suppliers. We primarily work with German and European partners who comply with EU labor and environmental regulations and supply us quickly and reliably with fabrics and haberdashery. In our view, such local collaborations also strengthen Germany as a business location and support fair pricing.
Repeat orders - Ongoing availability
Are there other reasons why long-term relationships with German and European suppliers are important? Absolutely!
Reorderability is a very strong argument, as our patterns are available indefinitely. Our suppliers, with whom we have maintained good business relationships for many years, allow us to reorder fabrics, resulting in resource savings and financial benefits for our customers. If your team grows, you can easily reorder individual pieces for new members even after years, without having to replace the previous outfits entirely. A classic win-win situation: good for the environment and for your wallet.
Just-in-Time-Production
How does ERVY reduce production waste and environmental impact?
By generating almost no waste. We strive for a largely waste-free production to preserve valuable raw fabrics for ourselves and future generations: Our increasingly computer-controlled cutting places all pattern pieces so efficiently that almost no fabric scraps are left over. The few remaining fabric pieces are almost entirely used to make accessories, such as doll leotards and hair ties.
Additionally, we rely on digitalization in many areas and are working towards an almost paperless administration.
We also make use of reusing cardboard boxes. If this is not possible, we—thanks to a wide selection of shipping packaging—always use the optimal box size for each order, so that as little “empty space” as possible is transported!
And last but not least: we completely avoid keeping stock, along with the associated waste of resources.
What are the advantages of avoiding inventory storage?
Stock items are mostly mass-produced and simply do not reflect the individuality and uniqueness of our customers. Our goal is to provide every athlete and every team with their own individual and unique outfit without high additional costs. The ERVY designs can therefore be fully customized.
Our short supply chains and production times can even compete with traditional inventory-based platforms. That is why we focus all resources on purely order-based, just-in-time production, relieving the environment by eliminating storage costs and the disposal of unsold stock.
